Course Description: Designed to cover sole proprietorship accounting principles involved in the preparation and maintenance of financial records concerned with business management and operations.  It is a comprehensive introduction to basic accounting including recording, summarizing and reporting, principles of income measurement and asset validation, and accounting systems and controls.  Students are exposed to careers in the accounting field and are given the opportunity to perform accounting applications using the computer.  An introduction to partnerships and corporations may be included.

Course Description: This course is designed to assist students in personal financial management skills. Students learn to manage their resources and to make sound personal financial decisions. Units of study include budgeting, credit, insurance, saving and investing, home ownership, banking, taxes, wills and estates.

Course Description:  This course is designed to include basic skills in the areas of word processing, database management, spreadsheet, electronic presentation. Students are offered opportunities to identify ethical issues pertaining to information systems and to gather information about careers in technology. Apply the skills acquired in Keyboarding 8 to professional usage of the computer as a business tool.

Course Description: This course is designed to introduce the student to a variety of digital media hardware and software applications.  Students will design and create projects that integrate sound, video, text, graphics and animation.  Students will demonstrate how to use technology to effectively communicate a message in personal, educational and professional settings.  Students will have access to scanners, digital cameras (still and video), CD burners, color printers and color projectors.

Course Description: The focus of the class is proper keyboarding techniques and keying by touch. Students will master touch operation of the keyboard and demonstrate correct technique, key stroking and care of equipment. Students will learn the operation of the computer keyboard while using Microsoft Word.

Course Description: The focus of the class is to enhance the skills acquired in Exploratory Keyboarding, with the development of document processing. Students will review touch techniques and proper key stroking while continuing to develop composition and proofreading skills as well as speed and accuracy. Students will demonstrate keyboarding proficiency in document formatting (personal letters, reports, tables).

Course Title: Foods, Nutrition and Wellness

Course Description: Provides students with knowledge needed to successfully cook in the home for individuals and families.  With a beginning foundation of nutrition and food science, students will learn basic preparation skills, the reason behind the reactions of foods and the short-term and long-term consequences of nutritional intake.
