Battle Creek Elementary To Welcome New Teachers In the Fall

Article by Shelby Obst

Due to an increase in enrollment at Battle Creek Elementary, the school district has hired three new elementary teachers for next school year. A warm welcome goes out to Katie (Weidner)  Eischeid, a Battle Creek alum, who will be returning to teach at the home of the Braves and Bravettes.

Eischeid attended Northeast Community College after high school graduation and received an Associate of Arts Degree in Music Business. A few years later, she went back to school at Wayne State College where she received her undergraduate degree in elementary education. She will graduate with a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction in May of 2019.

When Battle Creek Public Schools put out notifications for job opportunities, Eischeid was excited to apply and return back to her hometown. She commented, “Battle Creek has my heart, and I have been waiting for the moment to be able to teach here and, in a sense, to be able to give back to the community that provided so much for me growing up.”

Eischeid and her husband Chris have two children: a son named Maddox who is 4 years old and a girl named Macyn who is 17 months.
