Dear Parents and Students,

The district is continuing to monitor the developing information related to the spread of COVID-19 (commonly referred to as the coronavirus).  We are aware of the confirmed case of COVID-19 in Omaha and related cancellations of activities in Fremont on Saturday, March 7th. The district has reviewed its relevant policies and procedures and is confident that it is prepared to respond to any outbreak of any communicable disease that may occur.  Should this situation interfere with the district’s ordinary operations or schedule, you will be provided notice in the customary fashion.

We encourage you to remain informed about the spread of the coronavirus and would recommend that you visit the website for further information as it develops.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC): https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

NE Department of Health and Human Services: http://dhhs.ne.gov/Pages/Coronavirus.aspx

We also encourage you to use this opportunity to remind your students of the importance of getting rest, washing hands, and staying home if they feel ill.

Please be aware that an outbreak could disrupt school and school activities.  If there is a need to close school or make alterations to the schedule, it will be communicated with everyone in the same manner that weather related announcements are made.  At this time, there are no changes to our school schedule or any school activities.

The safety of our students, teachers, and staff is our top priority.  We will continue to work with the Elkhorn Logan Valley Health Department and other local and state agencies as we would with any large illness outbreak.

If you should have any questions, please contact the school.

Jake Luhr, Superintendent
