On Thursday, March 12, 2020 Battle Creek Public Schools staff members will practice the evacuation and reunification plan which is part of our standard response protocol.   The evacuation and reunification drill will include all staff present on March 12, 2020 and a small group of high school and elementary school students.   The drill will also include support from local law enforcement.  Student and staff safety is always a top priority at BCPS.  Implementing practice drills is an essential part of being prepared and understanding expectations/responsibilities.  Both schools engage in regularly scheduled standard response protocol drills throughout the school year.  Thursday will be the first time we will practice the evacuation and reunification.  I'm sure there will be some tweaks and changes to our plan after our first drill which is why we are drilling with staff and only a small number of students.  A whole school evacuation and reunification drill, that will include all staff and all students, is scheduled for Thursday, April 9, 2020.  We practice our standard response protocols so we are prepared for emergencies.  Emergencies we hope never happen.  Below you will find a picture of the standard response protocols for Battle Creek Public Schools.
