Greetings Parents & Guardians,

BCPS is planning on having school until a recommendation to close comes from our local ELVPHD, the Nebraska Department of Education, the CDC, and/or the Governor's Office.  I continue to communicate with our local and state agencies for the most current information.  As mentioned in my previous updates, this is an extremely fluid situation.  Starting on Monday, March 16, 2020 we will be taking the following measures:

  • All students will be required to wash their hands with soap and water as much as possible throughout the school day, but specifically upon entering the building and before eating lunch.
  • There will be no outside of district travel for students of staff for activities.
  • Only essential visitors will be allowed in the buildings.  Parents visiting the school will be allowed in the main offices only.  All deliveries will be limited to the main offices except for food deliveries to the kitchen.
  • The weight room and gyms in both buildings will be closed to the community until further notice.

These are some simple measures we can take to ensure the health and wellbeing of our students and staff.  I believe that having students stay in school as long as we can will help with the state's efforts to "flatten the curve" and is what is best for our community at this time.
