Alex Scott McKeown

Alex Scott McKeown, son of Anne and Jeremy McKeown, attended Pierce Public Schools before coming to  Battle Creek High as a junior.

Alex participated in golf and yearbook for two years. He was involved in FFA and FCCLA for one year each. He is a three year member of one act play production and student council, and he is a four year member of the speech squad. He served as a speech captain, was a one act play student director, and has served all year as the Public Relations Officer for Speech and Drama at BCHS. As a member of the student council at Pierce, Alex served as a school board representative. Alex has also been active in choir, serving this year as secretary.   

Alex was a Mid-State All-Academic Team honoree as a junior, a Mid-State Outstanding Performer as a senior, and is National Merit Scholar semifinalist. He was a Nebraska Youth Representative to the Washington Journalism and Media Conference. 

Outside of school, Alex likes to spend time with his friends. He stated that his fondest memory of his time at BCHS was the community performance for once act this year. He mentioned that it was “the last time we got up on stage together, and we were able to show friends and family the culmination of all our hard work.”

Alex plans to attend The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City to study dramatic acting.
