Karlie Adair Alder

Karlie Adair Alder, daughter of Candice and Steve Alder, attended Northern Hills Elementary, St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Norfolk Middle School, and Norfolk Junior High before coming to Battle Creek High School as a freshman.

Karlie was active in mock trial, choir, and cheerleading during all four years of high school. She served as a cheer captain during her junior year. Karlie also participated in speech for one season and competed in golf for two seasons. As a member of the choir, Karlie was selected to the UNK Honor Choir, the Hawkfest Honor Choir and the Wayne State Honor Choir.

When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Karlie mentioned Ms. Laura Johns, stating, “She cares about me and what’s happening in my life and makes sure that I’m heard.” As a favorite class, Karlie stated that she has always enjoyed art because it allowed her to express her creativity and was a way to release stress.

Karlie stated that when she’s not in school, she enjoys drawing, reading, and baking. She also works part time at HyVee Floral.

Karlie's plans after high school include attending Northeast Community College to pursue a degree in graphic design. She hopes to one day own her own business.

Best wishes, Karlie!
