Happy Friday Everyone!

This Happy Friday message goes out to the BCHS Class of 2020.  During a normal school year(which this has been anything but) we would be celebrating the graduation of our seniors tomorrow at 3:00 PM.  Thanks to the coronavirus & COVID-19, we are not able to do so.  It would be easy for our seniors to dwell on the loss.  The loss of prom, the loss of graduating on schedule, loss of spring and possibly summer activities, and the loss of coming to school during the 4th quarter.  Our seniors have every right to be hurt, disappointed, frustrated, or down right mad at the current situation.  These same feelings are not limited to seniors.  They are feelings that we all share.  However, the current limitations and losses do not define you/us and most certainly do not define your/our future.  Seniors, you have a whole lot of life in front of you.  A life filled with endless possibilities.  You are the future of our community, our state, and our country.  During your time at BCPS, you have developed character.  You have demonstrated resilience, determination, commitment, and grit.  Use these characteristics to make your world and the world around you better.  Find your passion and pursue your passion with relentless effort.  On more than one occasion, you all have looked adversity in the face and handled it.  The adversity caused by the pandemic is no different.  You will push through this adverse time and continue to pursue your passion.  Sometimes adversity helps pinpoint your passion.  Our current state of adversity may prompt a passion for leading change, ensuring constitutional rights, or seeking cures for disease.  Take on the current and future challenges with unwavering confidence that you have all the tools to tackle them.  As you all start the next chapter after high school, don't allow someone else to write this chapter for you.  Your book of life may have some guest authors, but the book belongs to you and each one of you has a "Best Seller".

Happy Friday & Happy Friday to the Class of 2020!
