April 16, 2019

Dear Parents of the Class of 2019,

I would like to say thank you for everything that you have done for Battle Creek Public School this year and the years previous.  As we are approaching the final weeks for our senior class, there are some important dates and times which we want to keep you informed of as we approach graduation:

Athletic Banquet & Awards Night: Friday April 26th at 6:00 p.m. at the high school

Senior Dinner: Sunday, May 5th at 5:00 p.m. in the high school commons

Honors Night:  Tuesday, May 7th at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym

Semester Tests: Thursday, May 2nd and Friday, May 3rd

Seniors Last Day of School: Friday, May 3rd (The last day for seniors that do not have to take semester tests will be Wednesday, May 1st.)

Graduation Practice: Wednesday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m.

Graduation: Saturday, May 11 at 3:00 p.m. in the high school gym

The following things must be completed and/or met in order for our students to graduate:

  • We will have a graduation practice on Wednesday, May 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the high school gym.  Prior to graduation practice, all fines, lunch accounts, and class dues must be paid.
  • All seniors are required to complete 40 community service hours (10 hours each year of high school) before the last day of school.  Please turn in your hours by Wednesday, May 8th.
  • We also ask the graduate to dress appropriately for the graduation ceremony: no shorts, no blue jeans, tennis shoes or flip-flops. If the graduate shows up with inappropriate dress, they will be asked to change prior to graduation.
  • We ask that all students report in the media lab by 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11 for final preparations for graduation.

I encourage you to make every effort to enjoy these final activities with your student. High school graduation is one of many milestones that you and your child will celebrate together.  Battle Creek Public School is honored to put on this celebration for your child.  Therefore, we have an expectation that your son/daughter be respectful and act appropriately for all of the graduates and their families. We hope graduation is a great experience for you, and it has been a pleasure working with your kids.

Sincerely,

Jeff Heimes, Principal

Battle Creek Jr./Sr. High School
