Battle Creek Public Schools will be saying farewell to elementary instructor and coach Mr. Trent Suehl at the end of the school year as he is headed to Pierce Public Schools to serve as the elementary principal starting next fall. Mr.Suehl came to Battle Creek sixteen years ago. He has taught both 5th and 3rd grades and has coached many sports for the school. He has served as an assistant high school football coach for the past ten years, but he also coached boys basketball, junior high boys basketball, and junior high football at various times.

Mr.Suehl attended Wayne State College, earning a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. He recently graduated with a master’s degree in educational administration from Doane University in Crete, Nebraska.

When asked to comment on what would be most difficult about leaving BCHS, Mr. Suehl stated, “I will miss the friends and co-workers that I have made within the school, and, of course, the students that I have had over the years.” He went on to say that Battle Creek is a great community and school, and this makes it very hard to leave. He also mentioned that he will miss coaching football.

Mr. Suehl leaves Battle Creek after making a positive impact on our school. He has developed wonderful relationships with both students and his peers and has served as a leader for his students. He and his family will be greatly missed in Battle Creek.
