Coach Kyle Schmidt was named Coach of the Year at Friday's Battle Creek Athletic Banquet. He was presented with the traveling trophy by last year's winner, Coach Toby Thompson.
Coach Schmidt has coached three sports every year since his first year at the school. His assignments for this school year were assistant football, head girls basketball, and junior high track.
