Accepted Stamp

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Acceptance of others is sometimes easy and sometimes it is extremely hard.  It is easy to be accepting of others with similar beliefs, views, and interests.  However, it can be extremely difficult to be accepting of others with opposite beliefs, views, and interests.  In our world today, anyone can find acceptance through social media.  For many of us, finding this acceptance is much easier to do through technology than it is to do face to face.   Face to face acceptance requires courage.  Courage to demonstrate, in front of others, that you accept the people who are just like you and also the people who are completely different from you.  Acceptance in school is sometimes confused with being popular or "normal".  As we get older, we realize that popularity is less important than being sincere and we also realize that "normal" just doesn't exist.  The sooner we learn to accept and appreciate the differences in each other, the sooner we can create a school culture that seeks higher ground over common ground.    A culture where we are understanding and appreciative of everyone.  A culture where we can be ourselves and know that regardless of our interests, others will appreciate our effort and dedication.  A culture where we appreciate our colleagues, classmates, and community.  We can trust, triumph, and take our school to the next level.  This culture exists within all of us, we just have to find the courage to create it face to face.

Happy Friday!
