Bravettes Selected for Northeast Nebraska Track & Field Classic

Article by Hannah Bleich

Congratulations to the following Bravettes who were selected to compete in Thursday’s Northeast Nebraska Track & Field Classic.

Those selected in individual events include Renee Brummels in the 100 meter hurdles and triple jump, BriAnna Zohner in the 300 meter hurdles, Riley Seifert in the 300 meter hurdles and the high jump, Tria McLean in the high jump, Makenna Taake in the long jump, and Abigail Meinke in the shot put.

The Bravettes also had two relays qualify. In the 400 meter relay, it will be sprinters Shelby Obst, Paytyn Taake, Makenna Taake, and Madi Taake vying for medals. The 1600 meter relay also has qualified with their best time of the season but at the time of publishing, runners had not been decided for Thursday’s event. Coach Finke stated that the four athletes running this race would be determined at practice this week. He added that many factors play a role in that decision, including the timing and order of events as well as who would have the freshest legs at the end of the meet.

Field events begin Thursday afternoon with running events getting underway at 5:00 pm at Norfolk High School.

Bravette Riley Seifert is missing from the photo as she was away from school today on a college visit.

Good luck to all participating Thursday!
