A partnership is the relationship between two or more people to do trade or business. Everyone involved in the partnership contributes(in some way) and shares in the gains or the losses. Although our school is not classified as a "for profit" business, our partnerships are just as valuable as the partnerships of any Fortune 500 company. Our biggest partnership is between the school and the families of the students we serve. This partnership must be grounded in open and honest communication in order to best serve our students. Partnerships designed for shared control in decision making and reliant on collaborative problem solving when issues arise. Disagreements within these partnerships are bound to occur from time to time, but disagreements should never lead to withdrawal from the partnership. Withdrawal leads to nowhere. The power of partnerships in the education of children is immense and carries with it a mutual responsibility between the school and the families to work together. I am proud of our BC partnerships and the collaborative efforts within them. Our partnerships are grounded in a commitment to excellence for ALL students. It is because of them that we are able to overcome obstacles, traverse new territory, and pursue our pathways of high performance.
