Happy Friday, everyone!

By the end of today, we’ll have wrapped up the first full week of the 2025–2026 school year. These early weeks still carry that sense of newness and high energy—and it’s exciting! But as time goes on, that initial buzz starts to settle into routine.

And that’s where comfort steps in. A healthy level of comfort can help us thrive. But too much? That’s when we risk losing momentum. This is exactly the moment when we need to lean into something deeper: GRIT.

Grit is the combination of passion and perseverance. It’s not talent alone that leads to success—it’s consistent, sustained effort over time. Grit means working hard at something meaningful, not just for a moment, but over the long haul. It’s pushing through boredom, setbacks, and uncertainty.

It’s about showing up—especially when others don’t.
It’s learning from failure—not folding under it.
It’s staying focused on the long game—even when the short game gets tough.

There’s nothing flashy about grit. But it works.

So as we move from weeks to months, months to quarters, and quarters to semesters, make it your goal to develop and depend on your grit.

The formula is simple:

  • Find something worth caring about

  • Expect and prepare for challenges

  • Celebrate consistency, not just results

  • Surround yourself with people who don’t quit

Together we will rely on our grit.

Happy Friday!
