Happy Friday, everyone!
November is a month centered on gratitude, and our first opportunity to give thanks comes on November 11 — Veterans Day. Like many of you, I have members of my extended family who answered the call to serve in the military. While I believe education is a profession of service, there is no greater service than that of the men and women who enlist to defend our country and protect our freedoms.
Next Tuesday, we will take time to honor the brave individuals who have served with courage, dedication, and selflessness. Their sacrifices have preserved the freedoms and opportunities we cherish each day. Our veterans are the unsung heroes of our past and the often-unheralded protectors of our present and future.
As we begin this new month, I want to dedicate this first Happy Friday message of November to all those who have served — past and present. On behalf of everyone at Battle Creek Public Schools, we extend our heartfelt thank you to every veteran of our great nation.
Happy Friday!
