A Week Before Christmas
A week before Christmas, and all through both schools,
Kids in their classrooms still follow the rules.
Teachers keep planning and giving their best—
Five days from now comes some much-needed rest.
At the end of the day, it's one week to go,
A little bit less for 6th grade below.
Out we will run with no looking back,
Hopeful for Santa, presents—a stack.
Who’s more excited? I truly don’t know—
Both get thrilled when the forecast is snow.
Five days of school for grades higher than six,
Two early outs are thrown in the mix.
Projects and finals will fill these two days,
Kids will be ready—they don’t easily faze.
Five days or four, it won’t change what we make—
We’re all counting down to a long winter break.
Tuned in and focused we all must remain,
Use calmness and kindness; let go of all strain.
Give it your all with nothing to hide—
Finish it strong with that great BC pride.
