Happy Friday, everyone!!

Our fall activities have been in full swing this week, so it seems fitting that today’s Happy Friday message focuses on the second half of education: activities and extracurricular involvement.

Research consistently shows that students who participate in school activities tend to have better attendance, stronger organizational skills, and a greater understanding of teamwork and commitment than students who are not involved. Here at BC, participation in extracurricular activities and athletics has always been strong, and that is something worth celebrating. It is an important part of who we are and contributes significantly to the overall success of our school.

Because our students are so involved, we are also fortunate to have tremendous support from our parents and community. At times, one could argue that activities overshadow academics—and there may be some truth to that. However, I would also argue that participation in activities can have a positive impact on academic performance. The competitive spirit we see in our students and staff is not limited to the playing field or activity itself. That spirit carries over into all areas of school.

When students are engaged in both activities and academics, they develop a stronger sense of purpose, commitment, teamwork, and pride. That involvement helps strengthen our school culture and our shared commitment to excellence.

The fall season always seems to fly by, but there will be plenty of opportunities ahead for growth, improvement, teamwork, and competition. We can all play a part in making the most of those opportunities by showing up, supporting our students, and promoting our school and community in a positive way.

Let’s continue to celebrate our students, support one another, and take pride in everything that makes BC such a special place.

Go Braves and Bravettes!!

Happy Friday!!
