Happy Friday everyone!
The term expectation can be defined as a belief that someone will or should achieve something. Having expectations is a key component to teaching and developing determination, revealing resiliency, and accentuating accountability. For example, the expectation of being respectful. This means that we expect people to be nice to each other. This does not mean we always agree, but with the expectation of being respectful, we can disagree without being disrespectful, hurtful, or mean. Having high expectations within a system like our school means that we are committed to them and follow through with them. High expectations make BCPS a great school with great people who, in turn, create a safe, respectful, and responsible culture. High expectations are a key component of being committed to excellence.
Happy Friday!
