If you have been to any home basketball, volleyball, or football games or any home wrestling meets within the past 3 years, you have probably heard this voice sing the national anthem before. Now, even MORE people will get to hear her! 👏👏
Freshman Mikayla Hughes was selected by the NSAA to sing the national anthem for the first round of state volleyball for classes D2, D1 & C2! 🎉
Mikayla will sing at 9:00AM at Pinnacle Bank Arena next Thursday, Nov. 5th. 🎶🎶

For the first time ever, Battle Creek has FIVE high school students who were selected for the 2026 NMEA All-State Chorus! 🎉

The audition process is intense, is competitive, and it includes fairly difficult music; and long days, early mornings, and summertime of preparation go into it. We had 9 students go through the process.
Out of 25 students selected throughout our 41-school region of various classes, we are fortunate to have 5 hard-working students who will be able to represent Battle Creek in Lincoln from Nov. 18th to Nov. 20th in a choir of 440 of the state's best singers. 💜💛
Please congratulate these students if you see them, and if you're able to snag some tickets, you can watch them perform live at the Lied Center at 4:30 on Friday, Nov. 20th in Lincoln. 🎶👏

Using lessons from Atomic Habits and a little Karate Kid—just like Mr. Miyagi's “wax on, wax off,” the little things we repeat every day prepare us for bigger moments!
Huge thanks to our kitchen cooks for providing breakfast on short notice!

Last Saturday, this year's Hall of Fame class was inducted into the Battle Creek Public Schools Hall of Fame. Over 200 classmates, teammates, family members, old friends, and everyone in between gathered for Battle Creek's most commemorative night of the year. There were moments of smiles and laughter, moments of standing ovations, and moments where there wasn't a dry eye in the house.
