Trinity Lynn Lutt, daughter of Lyle and Neisha Lutt, attended St. Paul’s Lutheran School from kindergarten to eighth grade before coming to Battle Creek for all four years of high school. Trinity participated in one act play production and speech during all four years of high school. She also participated in mock trial and FFA for two years each. In one act, she was the head of the crew her senior year. Trinity was the FFA Historian as a sophomore, the Sentinel her junior year, and the Vice President her senior year. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Trinity stated, “The teachers have all encouraged me to be the best I can be, so I don’t have a favorite.” Her favorite classes included Art and Shop because they allowed her to be creative during the school day. She stated that she also enjoyed Spanish because it was “a fun learning environment.” Trinity added that her favorite memory from her time at Battle Creek was spending time at one act productions. Outside of school, Trinity enjoys making art, reading, hunting, and fishing. She currently works at the Norfolk Public Library where she has worked since freshman year. Additionally, she is taking EMT classes at Northeast Community College. After graduation, Trinity plans to attend Northeast Community College to study in the paramedic program.

Trinity Lutt
Cody Scott Sullivan, son of Scott and Kim Sullivan, attended Norfolk Catholic Schools before coming to Battle Creek High School at the start of his freshman year. He is a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Norfolk. Cody participated in track during all four years of high school, and he played football for three seasons before switching to cross country as a senior. He was a letter winner in both track and cross country. When asked to name a favorite staff member at BCHS, Cody listed Mr. Jonah Heng, stating, “He is a great teacher and coach and was very helpful in every situation I faced in high school.” Cody named Shop as his favorite class because he is able to use a variety of tools and do hands-on work. Outside of school, Cody likes to spend his free time fishing, hunting, and motocrossing. He is currently employed at HyVee as a dairy stocker and cashier. After graduation, Cody will attend South Dakota State University where he plans to study architecture.

Luke Galen Beckman, son of Galen and Ginny Beckman, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education. He is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Luke was involved in golf for four years. He also participated in basketball for three seasons and played football for two. Aside from athletics, Luke was a trailblazer for one year. He was a four year letter winner in golf. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCPS, Luke named Mrs. Christine Mettler. He named his favorite class as Personal Finance. Luke’s favorite memory from his time at BCHS was qualifying for state golf his sophomore and junior years. Outside of school, Luke enjoys golfing and fishing. In addition, he holds a part time job at HyVee West in the meat department. After graduation, Luke plans to attend Northeast Community College to pursue a degree in electromechanical technology.

Reminder: Athletic Banquet meal tickets must be purchased by tomorrow, April 25th. Senior athletes eat free but must still have a ticket. Tickets are $10 a person and can be purchased in the high school office. If you plan to attend but not eat you do not need a ticket.

Brennen Lee Joseph Weidner, son of Jesse Weidner and Lindsey Grimes, attended school in Denver, Colorado, until seventh grade when he moved to Battle Creek. Brennen is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Brennen was active in speech, one act play production, student council, quiz bowl, and FCCLA during all four years of high school. He also participated in mock trial for two years. He was a member of National Honor Society and served as a trailblazer. In FCCLA, Brennen served as the co-president this past year, and he was also the National Honor Society vice president as a senior. Brennen was a state speech qualifier in informative and persuasive speaking his junior year, and a qualifier in oral interpretation of drama and informative speaking his senior year. Brennen won the silver medal at the Nebraska State Speech Championships this past winter for his informative speech on zombies. For his efforts in speech, Brennen was honored as the 2023 Speech Student of the Year. For his time in one act play production, he earned several outstanding performer awards. Brennen qualified for National FCCLA as a junior. For his efforts in the classroom, Brennen was on the A Honor Roll during all four years of high school. When asked to name a favorite subject, Brennen listed English Composition and Literature. He stated that he loved writing and analyzing the books that were read in the course. Outside of school, Brennen teaches CCD at St. Patrick’s on Wednesdays. He also volunteers at the Norfolk Animal Shelter on the weekends. Brennen has been a nurse’s aide at Heritage of Fountain Point since August of 2022. After high school, Brennen plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University where he will double major in English and Spanish language studies.
