The annual Battle Creek Livestock Judging Invitational was a success this year! We hosted 11 schools and 160 student judgers. Thank you to the Grant family for providing the hogs, the Schmidt family for the sheep, the Kilday family for the goats, and the O’Brien family for the cattle. Thank you to the BC FFA Booster Club for providing lunch for all of us! And finally, thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time to make this invitational possible!

There will be no elementary chess club tomorrow morning.

With the past two snow days, we WILL be having Pre-K classes tomorrow (both am and pm classes) even though it is Friday.

We also recently gave students awards for meeting the expectations at the elementary. Those awards consisted of eight students winning Brownies and Ice Cream, two students winning an Extra Recess for their class, and one student winning Lunch with the Principal. We recognized our students and staff that had birthdays during the month of December, as well. Winners of Brownies and Ice Cream were Claire M., Lydia F., Lexi M., Ezra F., Laikley J., Cashton M., and Isaih W. (not pictured). Winners of the Extra Recess were JaKobe L. and Kyler J. The winner of Lunch with the Principal was Keifer N. Congratulations to all students that had their names drawn!
Pictured below are all of our birthdays and winners from the month of December!

On this snow day, it is only appropriate to celebrate some of our awesome students and staff at Battle Creek Elementary!
The December Student of the Month was Paleigh S. Paleigh does the right thing within the school system at all times. She has been nominated several times because of the pride she takes in both her academics, as well as her behavior. Paleigh does her best to make sure students around her are able to learn by modeling exemplary behavior while also modeling how to do your very best on each and every assignment. Paleigh treats her classmates, as well as students of all grade levels, with respect and kindness!
The December Class of the Month was Mrs. Mettler’s 1st Grade Class! They have continually worked to meet the expectations we set forth for all students and they have worked hard, as an entire class, to hold each other accountable and truly do their very best. They are noticed meeting our expectations around the school no matter where they are at, even during ‘specials’ classes. Mrs. Mettler’s 1st Grade Class also does an excellent job meeting the expectations Mrs. Mettler has for them, especially within her classroom, where they are always on-task and learning!
Pictured below are our December Class of the Month (Mrs. Mettler’s 1st Grade Class), our December Student of the Month (Paleigh S.), and our December Student of the Month Nominations.
