Alyssa Christine Sullivan, daughter of Scott and Kim Sullivan, attended Norfolk Catholic High School before coming to Battle Creek High School during her sophomore year. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk.
Active in golf, track, speech, and mock trial, Alyssa made the most of her time at Battle Creek. She was also active in FFA, where she qualified for the state competition in the category of Nursery and Landscape.
When asked to list a favorite instructor at BCHS, Alyssa named Mrs. Jodi Borchers. She said, “[Mrs. Borchers] is very kind and understanding. She was always helpful.” When questioned about her favorite subject in school, Alyssa said that she loves learning about our country’s accomplishments in history class. Alyssa’s fondest memories from her time at BCHS will always be as part of the golf team. She mentioned that she enjoyed being able to golf after school and have fun with her teammates.
Outside of school, Alyssa works part time at Love & Threads, where she has been employed for the past three months. She also enjoys golfing in her spare time.
After graduation, Alyssa will attend either Wayne State College or Mount Marty University. She plans to study physical therapy.

Brock Michael West, son of Karie and Nick Langhorst and Shawn and Melissa West, attended Osmond Elementary School before transferring to Norfolk Catholic Schools as a first grader. He came to Battle Creek High School during the middle of his junior year.
Brock was active in football, basketball, and track during all four years of high school. He lettered three times in both football and basketball and twice in track. As a junior, Brock was a state medalist as a member of the 4x800 relay.
When asked to name a favorite staff member at BCHS, Brock listed Mr. Jonah Heng because he “makes class fun.” Brock added that he also enjoys Coach Heng’s style of coaching. He listed Mr. Taylor Baumert’s history class as his favorite period of the day. Brock’s favorite memory from his time at BCHS will always be state track in 2021.
Aside from athletics, Brock has served as a Trailblazer this past year.
Outside of school, Brock enjoys golfing and hanging out with friends. He is employed as a technician at Paul Davis Restoration, a job he has held for three years, and he has also been employed at the Norfolk Country Club for two years.
After graduation, Brock plans to attend Wayne State College or the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He is unsure of his major, but is thinking about secondary education.

High School Concert

Lindsey Kay Bolling, daughter of Sherrie and Bill Marx and Seth and Michelle Bolling, has attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. Lindsey is an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
While at BCHS, Lindsey participated in volleyball for one season, and she competed in cross country for three years. In addition, she played basketball and ran track for four years. Lindsey served as a team captain this past year in both cross country and basketball, and she has competed at the state meet in both track and cross country.
Outside of athletics, Lindsey has served as a Trailblazer for the past two years, and she is a member of National Honor Society. During her freshman and sophomore years, she participated in one act play production, and as a junior and senior, she has been a member of the yearbook staff. She currently serves as one of the yearbook editors.
For her effort in the classroom, Lindsey has been on the A Honor Roll throughout high school. When asked to name a favorite class in high school, Lindsey stated that she has enjoyed her yearbook class with Mrs. Angela Gray. She added that she has enjoyed the relaxed classroom environment and taking pictures at different extracurricular activities.
After graduation, Lindsey plans to attend Wayne State College to pursue either a degree in business marketing or in health and wellness.

Traven Jake Croghan, son of Heath Croghan and Dana Croghan, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education.
He participated in football for one season, wrestling for three, and was involved in FFA for the past two years. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Traven listed Mr. Mike Couch. Woods and Metals, taught by Mr. Couch, is Traven's favorite class.
Outside of school, Traven enjoys hanging out with his friends, driving around, and buying cars to demo. In addition, Traven is employed as a horse trainer.
Traven is undecided about his future plans.

You can help us celebrate the day by wearing fun and/or mismatched socks and by performing random acts of kindness for all. Our students will learn about inclusion and kindness, as well as learning about Down Syndrome in general!
