Kenna Louise Pochop, daughter of Matt and Sara Pochop, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Kenna participated in volleyball during all four years of high school, serving as a team captain as a senior. She lettered her junior and senior seasons and earned several honors, including being named to the All-State Honorable Mention squad by the Omaha World Herald, Lincoln Journal Star, and the Mid-State Conference. Her hard work in the classroom also earned Kenna an Academic All-State honor for volleyball. She currently sits eighth on the career digs leaderboard for Battle Creek High School.
Aside from athletics, Kenna is a very strong student in the classroom and is currently ranked second in her class. For her efforts in the classroom, Kenna has been on ‘A’ Honor Roll throughout high school. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as a Trailblazer for two years. In addition, she was a wrestling statistician.
When asked to name a favorite instructor as BCHS, Kenna listed Mrs. Jenni Frey who always has a “fun environment in her classroom” and “helped spark her interest in Spanish.” Kenna added that even now she feels she can go in and visit with Mrs. Frey despite not having a Spanish class. Kenna listed science as her favorite subject.
Thinking back on her time at BCHS, Kenna mentioned that her favorite memory will always be the trip that the volleyball team took to Greeley, Colorado, in the summer of 2021. She said that the five senior girls got to ride to Colorado together and that the whole trip was filled with unforgettable memories. Her fondest memory of the trip was the escape room that the seniors and Coach Wintz completed together.
After graduation, Kenna plans to attend Northeast Community College to finish her Associate's Degree. She then plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln to earn a Bachelor's Degree in biology as well as a minor in Spanish. After her time at UNL, Kenna plans to study to be a physician’s assistant.

Rory Geraldine Gullicksen, daughter of Angie Kortje and Dusten Gullicksen, attended Battle Creek Public Schools since she was in kindergarten.
Rory participated in FFA during both her junior and senior years. As a freshman, she also participated in mock trial and volleyball.
Outside of school, Rory is active in softball, a sport she has played for twelve years. She mentioned that she got to play in the state tournament in Hastings, Nebraska. For the past nine months, Rory has held a job at Buffalo Wild Wings in Norfolk.
When asked to name a favorite staff member from her time at BCHS, Rory listed Mrs. Rebecca Anderson because she felt comfortable going to her with anything and knew she could trust her.
After high school, Rory intends to take a gap year and move out of state. Her goal is to “start a new life” and explore the world. Following her travels, Rory then plans to attend college to study biology or forensics.
