Last Friday, February 2nd, our elementary school had our monthly celebration / assembly for the month of January. Pictured below are our Student of the Month, Karter L., and our Class of the Month, Mrs. Tillotson's 2nd Grade Class! Also pictured are our Student of the Month Nominations, as well as the students and staff that celebrated January birthdays.
Karter has made huge growth academically, as well as behaviorally in the past school year. In January, Karter really focused on meeting our three pillar words and even worked to make decisions that were Safe, Respectful, and Responsible when their peers may not have been making the same choices. Karter gives best effort on all class work, even when it might be difficult, and he is willing to ask questions when he doesn’t know how to do something. Karter is an excellent role model within our elementary school!
Mrs. Tillotson's 2nd Grade Class has somewhat flown under the radar for the entire school year. They have been doing good things all year, but during January they took it to the next level. They are a class that wants to do well and is really competitive. They constantly work on our three pillar words and Mrs. Tillotson holds them accountable for Being Safe, Being Respectful, and Being Responsible!

We had our first students come in the new office area this morning and they were super excited to get to use the new entrance! It is a beautiful new space that will serve our future generations well with its modern look and wonderful amenities. If you drop a child off, I would encourage you to come in and see the new office space, as well as entryway. #CommittedToExcellence!

We are now in the new office at the elementary school! If you are bringing your child late and/or picking your child up early, you are now going to get them from the new office area on the South side of the school. We will also begin (tomorrow) having our 2nd and 3rd grade students dropped off on the South side again, as well as buses dropping breakfast students off there to walk in those doors. This will be a shift, but it is a great one. #CommittedToExcellence!

Battle Creek Elementary School is having one of our regular staff (and student) competitions with a ‘Door Decorating’ Challenge for Valentine's Day! Please click the link and vote for the three doors you believe to be the ‘best’. Some classes went all out and decorated more than one side of the door, which is why some pictures have multiple doors with them. What a fun-filled day! The BCHS Choir travelled to Albion for the 78th Annual Boone Central Choral Clinic.
They learned a ton of new aspects of musicality and put on a wonderful concert. They received several compliments on their showcase as well!

Due to a lot of our youth girls basketball teams having games today we will only be having one session of basketball skills today. We will go from 3:00-4:00 at the high school for any 3rd-6th graders who want to come!
Reminder: PK-12 students will have no school this Friday, February 9th.
