Braves play a solid game but fall to Cedar Catholic 55-49. They will play at O'Neill next Friday night to wrap up their regular season.

Bravettes put together a complete game tonight! They win 46-32 over Cedar Catholic.
They'll play their next game Tuesday at subdistricts at Scotus Central Catholic at 7:30 against Omaha Nation.

Ellyson Marie Ottis, daughter of Kelsey and Justin Schnoor and Joshua and Bobbie Ottis, attended St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek from preschool through eighth grade. She attended Lutheran High Northeast for two years before coming to Battle Creek High School as a junior. Elly is a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the LIGHT Youth Group in Battle Creek.
When asked to name a favorite staff member at BCHS, Elly listed Mrs. Cathy Thompson, stating, “She has helped me accomplish my goals.” Elly named Spanish as her favorite class because she loves learning about other cultures.
Elly stated that her fondest memories from her time at Battle Creek were the homecoming games; she stated that it was fun to interact with people she usually doesn’t interact with.
Outside of school, Elly enjoys small crafts such as embroidering and painting. She also works as a CNA at Arbor Care Countryside in Madison, Nebraska, where she has been employed since June 2024.
After graduation, Elly plans to attend Wayne State College for two years to study nursing before transferring to UNMC for two additional years. She plans to complete certification to become a Registered Nurse.
Haiden Wayne Hurlburt, son of Jennifer Hurlburt and Tyler Schmidt, attended Grant Elementary in Norfolk before coming to Battle Creek in elementary school.
Haiden is a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. From kindergarten until tenth grade, Haiden participated in wrestling.
Outside of school, Haiden enjoys being outside and working on vehicles. Haiden has been a lawn care assistant at ERM Landscaping for two years while also managing his own business called Hurlburt’s Detailing.
Haiden listed his favorite staff member as Mr. Mark Keith, stating, “He has shown me the way through school and has been like a parent to me. He has shown me that it is all not that bad; I just had to lock in.” Haiden named shop as his favorite class, mentioning that he misses Mr. Couch and his “chill” classroom atmosphere.
After high school, Haiden plans to attend Northeast Community College to study to become a diesel technician. Following college, he hopes to move to Montana.
