Alexsis May Kersten, daughter of Connie and Matt Kersten, attended Woodland Park Elementary and Bloomfield Elementary before coming to Battle Creek in sixth grade. She attended Battle Creek Public Schools for the remainder of her education. Alexsis is a member of First Christian Church in Norfolk. Alexsis was active in golf for four seasons, wrestling for one season, and cheer for one year. Aside from athletics, Alexsis was a member of FFA for two years and FCCLA for four years. She has served as Vice President of Public Relations for the FCCLA chapter during this past school year. Her participation for two years in FFA has rewarded her with the Green-Hand Degree. In addition, Alexsis has been awarded the Character and Student of the Month Awards at different times during her years in high school for her academic efforts and high character. Alexsis listed her favorite staff member as Mrs. Brianna O'Brien, stating, “She has always believed in me and helped me figure out what I wanted to do after high school.” Alexsis named Culinary as her favorite class because she enjoys learning about different foods and learning how to cook. One of Alexsis’s fondest memories from her time at Battle Creek was attending state FCCLA her junior year. She stated, “It was fun to compete and spend time with everyone who made it; it was a good overall experience.” Outside of school, Alexsis enjoys golfing in her free time and hanging out with friends. She has worked at Goody’s Grille in Battle Creek for one and a half years. She regularly goes to church and attends youth group every Sunday. After graduation, Alexsis plans to attend Wayne State College to pursue a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences Education.

Alexis Drew Anderson, daughter of Aaron and Jenny Anderson, attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Battle Creek, NE, before transitioning to Battle Creek High School as a freshman. She is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. Alexis has participated in many activities throughout high school. She was active in choir, robotics, and track for three years each, and she was a member of FCCLA and FFA for two years. In addition, Alexis served as a Trailblazer, ran cross country, and wrestled for one year each. When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Alexis mentioned Mr. Jonah Heng, stating, “He makes class fun, he calls me Anderson, and there’s never a dull moment in his class.” Alexis listed Digital Media as her favorite class because she enjoys doing the projects. Alexis mentioned that her fondest memory at BCHS was going to state FFA her junior year because she was able to walk around and meet new people. Her hobbies consist of working out, farming, drawing, and hanging out with friends. Outside of school, Alexis holds a job at St. John’s Daycare, where she has worked for one year. After graduation, Alexis plans to move to South Dakota. She will enter the workforce immediately after high school.

Grace Marie Wysocki, daughter of Brian and Nancy Wysocki, attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Battle Creek from preschool until eighth grade. She came to Battle Creek High School as a freshman. Grace is a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Battle Creek and actively participates in their LIGHT youth group. While at BCHS, Grace participated in volleyball for four seasons, track for three, and was a member of FFA for two years. In addition, she served as a Trailblazer for two years and was a member of FCCLA for one. In FFA, Grace has served as the chapter’s reporter this past year. Grace also has been a member of the yearbook staff, serving as one of the editors as a senior. Throughout her high school years, Grace received many awards, including the FFA Greenhand Degree. She also is an FFA two-time state qualifier in cooperative speaking. She lettered three times in volleyball and twice in track, and she was selected by the student body as a homecoming candidate last fall. On top of all of her activities, Grace maintained a high academic standard and earned multiple awards including A-Honor Roll throughout her high school career as well as perfect attendance her sophomore year. For her academic efforts and high character, Grace received the Student of the Month award several times. When asked to name a favorite teacher and class, Grace mentioned Mrs. Angela Gray and her yearbook class. She stated that Mrs. Gray was “always there to help me with papers and yearbook work. She was always willing to listen and talk about anything.” Grace said that her fondest memory while attending BCHS was attending the state FFA convention her junior year. She stated that she created many memories with the Battle Creek competitors and said, “Walking across the stage to receive my silver medal was an unforgettable experience.” After graduation, Grace plans to attend Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, to pursue a degree in elementary education with an endorsement in early childhood education.
