
Logan James Roberts, son of Chandra Roberts and Kevin Voecks and the late Dan Roberts, attended Millard’s Willowdale Elementary and Gretna’s Whitetail Creek Elementary before moving to Norfolk in 4th grade. He attended Norfolk’s Bel Air Elementary, Norfolk Middle School, and Norfolk Senior High before coming to Battle Creek as a junior. He is a member of First Christian Church of Norfolk.
While at BCHS, Logan participated in football, track, FFA, and served as a Trailblazer. In football, Logan was named as the Special Teams MVP as a senior. When asked to name a favorite teacher, Logan mentioned Mr. Andrew Carlson, stating, “He always pushed me to my limits . . . and was always trying to make me better and more humble. He was also always checking up on me in school and life outside of school; he was always a shoulder to lean on through my hardships.” When asked to name a favorite class, Logan mentioned Mrs. Gray’s Workplace Communications class. He stated, “Mrs. Gray treats her students like her kids. She made projects fun and got us interested in the topic.”
Outside of school, Logan enjoys working, especially in jobs that are hands-on where one can get a little dirty. He recently started working at Belina Feedlot as a hired hand. Aside from work, Logan enjoys hunting, trapping, fishing, 4H archery, and spending time with his family and friends.
Logan mentioned that his favorite memories from his time at BCHS will always be his senior year of football. He stated that football helped him grow into the young man he always dreamed he would be, and he added that he grew very close with his teammates and coaches. Logan also mentioned that when he was injured toward the end of the season, it was very scary, but the experience showed him the best of Battle Creek. He stated that when he returned home from the hospital and was greeted by his teammates and coaches, it truly made him realize how great the community of Battle Creek is.
After high school, Logan plans to attend Northeast Community College to study in the HVAC program.


Roger Allen Mieure, son of Jamie and Terry Mieure, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education.
Roger participated in football during all four years of high school, lettering three times. He was named Player of the Game on two occasions: in contests against Boone Central in 2020 and against Pierce in 2021. In addition, Roger played basketball during all four years of high school and lettered twice. He also competed in track and field during all four years, lettering four times. His best event was the high jump.
Aside from athletics, Roger was elected as a class officer during his freshman and sophomore years of high school. He has also served as a Trailblazer during the past two years. He has been on the A Honor Roll throughout high school.
When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Roger listed Mr. Andrew Carlson and said, “Mr. Carlson pushed me in sports and weights, and he’s a fun guy to be around.” Roger listed math as his favorite subject in school because it comes so easy to him.
Outside of school, Roger works as a farmhand for Belina Feedlot. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his friends, playing basketball, and going golfing.
After graduation, Roger plans to attend Northeast Community College to get a degree in electromechanical technology.

Ty William Hitz, son of Troy and Teresa Hitz, attended St. John’s Lutheran School in Battle Creek before coming to Battle Creek High School in ninth grade. He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church of Battle Creek.
Ty participated in FFA as a junior and senior and served as a Trailblazer during those same years. In FFA, he was chaplain of the chapter.
When asked to name a favorite teacher, Ty named Mr. Mike Couch because he was fun and easy going. He listed his favorite class as shop because he enjoys working with his hands. While at BCHS, Ty’s fondest memory was going to watch sporting contests and hanging out with his friends.
Outside of school, Ty enjoys farming, hunting, and fishing. After graduation, he plans to attend Northeast Community College to study welding.

Kyra Ann Hypes, daughter of Jed and Julie Hypes, attended St. John Lutheran School and Battle Creek Elementary before coming to Battle Creek High School at the start of seventh grade. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Kyra was active in speech during all four years of high school, and she was also involved in one act play production, volleyball, cheerleading, track, girls wrestling, and she served as a Trailblazer for two years.
Aside from school activities, Kyra enjoys going to the gym, spending time in nature, working as a CNA at the Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, and spending time with her friend, Delaney.
When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Kyra listed Mrs. LeAnn Frauendorfer, stating, “From my first day of seventh grade, Mrs. Frauendorfer and I have always had a special bond. She became like a second mother to me after she was my teacher and speech coach.”
Kyra listed her favorite subject as art, a subject she has studied during all four years of high school. Currently, Kyra is the lone student in Art Four. She stated, ”Art provides a safe atmosphere where I can let loose and be myself. Mrs. Stephanie Nelson is also one of my favorite teachers because of the welcoming atmosphere she creates in her classroom.”
Looking back at her time at BCHS, Kyra listed her favorite memory as her senior homecoming. She said she will always remember the dance because of the music and because it felt like everyone was one big family.
After high school, Kyra plans to move to Montana for two months with one of her coworkers, Madi Schaffer, to pursue traveling CNA work. After her summer work comes to an end, she plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to study psychology.

Dylan Thomas Amick, son of Amber and Dave Amick, attended the Wesley Center for preschool and Christ Lutheran School in Norfolk for kindergarten through eighth grade. He came to Battle Creek High School at the start of his freshman year. He is a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
Dylan was active in football and track during all four years of high school, and he participated in basketball for two seasons. In football, Dylan was named to the First Team All District squad, and he was also named All-State Honorable Mention by the Lincoln Journal Star and the Omaha World Herald. He served as one of the team captains for the football team as a senior. Dylan was selected to participate in the Northeast Nebraska All Star Classic to be held this summer in Norfolk.
Aside from athletics, Dylan has been a member of the National Honor Society and has also been a member of FFA during his junior and senior years. Dylan served as the treasurer for FFA as a junior and currently serves as the president for the organization. In addition to his leadership responsibilities in FFA, Dylan also was elected his class’s vice president during the past two years of high school. As a junior, Dylan was selected to be Battle Creek’s Cornhusker Boys State representative. Dylan was crowned Homecoming king by the student body past fall.
When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Dylan listed Mr. Taylor Baumert, stating, “He is a fun person to be around.” Dylan added that he greatly enjoys the way Mr. Baumert teaches and he mentioned that he can talk to Mr. Bamert about anything, especially sports. Dylan listed his Business Entrepreneurship course as his favorite class.
Looking back on his time at BCHS, Dylan’s favorite memories will always revolve around football. That time of year has always been his favorite because he gets to do the thing that he loves most and he gets to have a lot of fun with his friends.
Outside of school, Dylan works part time at Arista Ranch, a job he has held since June of 2020. In addition, Dylan greatly enjoys a hobby of aviation and hopes to earn his pilot’s license one day. He spends a lot of time in the air with his dad.
After graduation, Dylan plans to attend Midland University where he will be a member of the football squad. He plans to study business during his time at Midland.

Kolton Robert Wiehn, son of Keith and Keli Wiehn, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education. He is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Kolton participated in cross country and robotics during all four years of high school. In cross country, he was a state qualifier as a senior. Kolton also qualified for state in robotics, and he also qualified for the U.S. Open in robotics.
Outside of school, Kolton was involved in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout Award.
When asked to name a favorite instructor as BCHS, Kolton listed Mr. Mike Couch, stating, “He always makes his classes fun.” Kolton added that, because of robotics, he and Mr. Couch have a good relationship. Kolton listed shop as his favorite course during high school. When asked to list a favorite memory from his time at BCHS, Kolton stated that competing in sports is something he will always remember.
After graduation, Kolton plans to attend Buena Vista University where he will be a member of the cross country squad. He will major in business management.


Kenna Louise Pochop, daughter of Matt and Sara Pochop, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Kenna participated in volleyball during all four years of high school, serving as a team captain as a senior. She lettered her junior and senior seasons and earned several honors, including being named to the All-State Honorable Mention squad by the Omaha World Herald, Lincoln Journal Star, and the Mid-State Conference. Her hard work in the classroom also earned Kenna an Academic All-State honor for volleyball. She currently sits eighth on the career digs leaderboard for Battle Creek High School.
Aside from athletics, Kenna is a very strong student in the classroom and is currently ranked second in her class. For her efforts in the classroom, Kenna has been on ‘A’ Honor Roll throughout high school. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has served as a Trailblazer for two years. In addition, she was a wrestling statistician.
When asked to name a favorite instructor as BCHS, Kenna listed Mrs. Jenni Frey who always has a “fun environment in her classroom” and “helped spark her interest in Spanish.” Kenna added that even now she feels she can go in and visit with Mrs. Frey despite not having a Spanish class. Kenna listed science as her favorite subject.
Thinking back on her time at BCHS, Kenna mentioned that her favorite memory will always be the trip that the volleyball team took to Greeley, Colorado, in the summer of 2021. She said that the five senior girls got to ride to Colorado together and that the whole trip was filled with unforgettable memories. Her fondest memory of the trip was the escape room that the seniors and Coach Wintz completed together.
After graduation, Kenna plans to attend Northeast Community College to finish her Associate's Degree. She then plans to transfer to the University of Nebraska in Lincoln to earn a Bachelor's Degree in biology as well as a minor in Spanish. After her time at UNL, Kenna plans to study to be a physician’s assistant.


Rory Geraldine Gullicksen, daughter of Angie Kortje and Dusten Gullicksen, attended Battle Creek Public Schools since she was in kindergarten.
Rory participated in FFA during both her junior and senior years. As a freshman, she also participated in mock trial and volleyball.
Outside of school, Rory is active in softball, a sport she has played for twelve years. She mentioned that she got to play in the state tournament in Hastings, Nebraska. For the past nine months, Rory has held a job at Buffalo Wild Wings in Norfolk.
When asked to name a favorite staff member from her time at BCHS, Rory listed Mrs. Rebecca Anderson because she felt comfortable going to her with anything and knew she could trust her.
After high school, Rory intends to take a gap year and move out of state. Her goal is to “start a new life” and explore the world. Following her travels, Rory then plans to attend college to study biology or forensics.
