The February Class of the Month at Battle Creek Elementary was Mrs. Eischeid's Third Grade Class. Mrs. Eischeid's class took the goal of being 1% better each day to heart. They worked really hard to meet and exceed our school wide expectations, while also holding themselves (and their classmates) accountable. There are several individuals in the class that have taken it upon themselves to grow into leaders that are committed to not only doing great things themselves, but also in helping their classmates do their very best, as well.
The Student of the Month for February was Alexa Wemhoff. Alexa has gone above and beyond in many different ways during the majority of the school year, but it was especially noticeable during the month of February. Alexa works hard on her academics, she is a kind and considerate friend to all, and she consistently goes above and beyond to make sure our school is always as nice looking as it can possibly be. Alexa has been noticed cleaning their classroom and even picking things up in the hallway that might not be hers. 1% better is something that wasn’t quite enough Alexa. She did a fantastic job representing herself in all areas of the school and community during the month of February.
Also pictured are the rest of the nominations for February Student of the Month and also our two Art Students of the Month, which were Zane Kuchar and Grace Meredith.

On Monday, February 28th, Battle Creek Elementary had their monthly mission celebration. The mission for the month of February was to 'Improve by 1% Each Day'. Students worked on that mission through writing goals for themselves, through holding each other accountable, and by doing their very best each day to focus on a 'Growth Mindset' instead of a 'Fixed Mindset'. Students were rewarded for positive behavior throughout the month with recognition slips and then students' names were drawn to receive awards, which are pictured below. Those rewards were Brownies and Ice Cream, Class Extra Recess, and Lunch With the Principal. Also pictured are the students and staff that had birthdays during the month of February.
Our March Mission is to 'Control What We Can Control'. There are many extrinsic factors that are outside our control that make an impact on our daily lives, but this month we are choosing to focus on the things we CAN control instead, such as our reaction(s) to those extrinsic pieces and our daily effort to be our very best. The students will work on this mission throughout the month of March.
