Battle Creek Elementary School is preparing to celebrate Read Across America Week and the birthday of Dr. Seuss at Battle Creek Elementary. The students will participate in dress-up days throughout the week, while also doing different reading activities to enhance early literacy skills. Since its inception twenty years ago, the NEA’s Read Across America program, designed to get kids excited about reading, has acted as a vehicle to talk about a serious issue in a fun way. That issue is children’s literacy. Overall, our goal is to enhance awareness when it comes to reading and reading fluently, which can happen through reading at school, reading at home, and simply fostering that early love for reading with all kids.

Battle Creek Elementary Family Reading Night is coming up on Monday, March 7th! Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. The book fair will also be open the night of the 7th before, during, and after the Family Reading Night.

Congratulations to these Battle Creek 7-12 students on being voted student of the month for February.
