Carrington Greenlea Uhlir, daughter of Kari and Todd Uhlir, attended the Norfolk Public Schools before coming to Battle Creek as a sophomore. Carrington participated in girls’ wrestling and art for three years. She also participated in track and field for two seasons. For her efforts on the mat, Carrington was selected as a team captain, lettered all three seasons, and was a state qualifier her senior year. Aside from athletics, Carrington served as a Trailblazer as a junior and senior. Outside of school, Carrington is employed at Community Pride Care Center as a certified nursing assistant, a job she has held for the past nine months. In her free time, she enjoys reading, relaxing, and hanging out with family and friends as much as possible. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Carrington named Mrs. Stephanie Nelson because she has always been “a supporting backbone” for Carrington in school. She gives great advice not only on art but also on life in general. She does a great job making sure everyone is included and supports everyone in their activities. Carrington listed art as her favorite subject because it allows her to get away from the stressful atmosphere of schoolwork and create beautiful work. After high school, Carrington plans to travel. Her educational goals include a master’s degree in nursing with hopes of becoming a certified nurse midwife. She plans to attend Bryan College of Health Sciences in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Hudson Lehr Last, son of Tyler and Jenny Last, attended Norfolk Catholic for the early years of his education before coming to Battle Creek Public Schools in seventh grade. Hudson is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Hudson participated in football and wrestling during all four years of high school. He lettered all four years for his efforts on the mat and three times for his work on the gridiron. Outside of school, Hudson is employed as an intern at CHS in Wausa, Nebraska, and has been there for three years now. In his free time, Hudson enjoys picking up shifts at work. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Hudson named his wrestling coaches, stating they taught him a lot about himself. He listed shop as his favorite class, especially with former instructor Mr. Mike Couch. His fondest memories from his time at BCHS will always be hanging out during wrestling tournaments because his team was made up of a “great group of dudes.” After high school, Hudson plans to continue his job at CHS while attending Northeast Community College where he will study diversified agriculture.

Michael John Wragge, son of Tim and Erin Wragge, attended St. John Lutheran School before coming to Battle Creek at the start of his freshman year. MJ is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek. MJ participated in football, basketball, and track during all four years of high school. He was a team captain in basketball as a junior and senior. He was also named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention list following his junior season and to the Mid-State Conference All-Academic List following his junior and senior seasons. MJ said his fondest memory from his time at BCHS was winning the sub-district final game his junior year. Aside from athletics, MJ served as the senior class treasurer, and he is a member of the National Honor Society, where he served as the secretary this past year. MJ listed Mr. Jonah Heng as his favorite teacher, saying, “He always brings great energy to the classroom.” He listed math as his favorite subject, stating that “it has always made sense to me, and I enjoy solving problems and getting an answer.” Outside of school, MJ enjoys playing video games, working as a lifeguard, and playing pickup basketball. He has been employed as a lifeguard at the Battle Creek City Pool for the past two summers. After high school, MJ plans to attend Concordia University in Seward, Nebraska, where he will play basketball and major in secondary education.

Jaidan Viola Wehrle, daughter of Nick and Stephanie Wehrle, attended Bel Air Elementary in Norfolk from preschool through third grade before coming to Battle Creek Public Schools for the remainder of her education. Jaid is a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk. Jaid participated in volleyball, basketball, and track during all four years of high school. In volleyball, she was a two-year starter and received two varsity letters. In basketball, Jaid was also a two-year starter and received three varsity letters. For her efforts, Jaidan was named All-State Honorable Mention, Mid State Conference Honorable Mention, and she received the Mid-State Conference All-Academic Award for basketball. In track, Jaid qualified for the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships her sophomore and junior years, medaling both times. She was the Class C State Shot Put Runner-Up in 2023 and the Class C State Shot Put Champion in 2024. Outside of athletics, Jaid has been a Trailblazer and served as a Pep Club Leader. In addition, she was a member of the National Honor Society, FCCLA, and Student Council throughout her time in high school. For her efforts in the classroom, she has received multiple academic awards including Character Student of the Month, Scholar Athlete, and Spanish Excellence Awards on multiple occasions. During her time in FCCLA, she was a state finalist, a district champion, and a national qualifier. When asked to name a favorite teacher, Jaid listed Mrs. Jenni Frey and Mrs. LeAnn Frauendorfer, stating “Mrs. Frey has taught me three years of Spanish and is always in my corner.” She added that Mrs. Frauendorfer is who she always turns to for advice. Jaid listed her favorite class as American History because she loves learning about history and liked that the class wasn’t always just from a textbook. Outside of school, Jaid enjoys playing for her club softball team out of Omaha, something she has been a part of for the past six years. She also enjoys participating in community service at her church and reading. When asked to name a favorite memory from her time at BCHS, Jaid listed winning state shot put. She added that she “felt the unconditional support from her community and was able to give back to her team.” After high school, Jaid plans to attend Midland University where she hopes to obtain a bachelor’s degree in biology before applying to the physician’s assistant program. Jaid will also play softball for Midland.

Bria Kay Lynne Blevins, daughter of Makel and Matt Sazama and Eric Blevins, attended the Norfolk Public Schools through sixth grade before coming to Battle Creek. She is a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Norfolk, Nebraska. Bria was active in volleyball for three seasons and basketball for one. She is a four-year member of the student council and FCCLA, where she served as an officer for two years and qualified for state three times. Bria was involved in speech and FFA for three years each. In FFA, she competed at state on two occasions. In addition, Bria has served as a Trailblazer for the past two years. When asked to name a favorite teacher at BCHS, Bria listed Mrs. Brianna O'Brien, stating, “She has a big heart and is most understanding and passionate about her students.” Bria listed her favorite class as history with former instructor Mr. Taylor Baumert. When asked to recall a fondest memory of her time at BCHS, Bria mentioned going to Europe with other students. She said, “I enjoyed traveling and experiencing the world.” Outside of school, Bria works at Hy-vee West, a job she has held since 2023. She also works at Heritage of Bel-Air as a certified nursing assistant. Bria enjoys working her two jobs; she also likes to hang out with friends and go to concerts in her free time. After graduation, Bria plans to attend either Wayne State College or Northeast Community College. Her intended area of study is nursing as she plans to be an RN and specialize in pediatrics or geriatrics.

Carli Lynn Hamilton, daughter of Bob and Stephanie Hamilton, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. She is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Carli was active in track and volleyball for two seasons each. In addition, she participated on the BC Jammers dance team for three years, receiving three varsity letters. Outside of athletics, Carli served as a Trailblazer was a member of the National Honor Society. She was also involved in FFA for three years and FCCLA during all four years of high school. For her efforts in FCCLA, Carli served as the Vice President of Competitive Events during her senior year. She also earned many accolades in the organization, including being a two-time state champ, a national runner-up in 2022 and a national champion in 2023. She was also a three-time state qualifier in FFA. Carli listed her favorite teacher as Mr. Junior Aguilar, stating, “He is so friendly and makes learning difficult topics easy and fun. He truly cares about us.” Carli named Anatomy and Physiology and English Composition as her favorite classes, pointing out that A&P has been fun to learn things that will help her in her future as a nurse, and English Composition was enjoyable because she enjoyed writing about topics that interested her. When asked to name a fondest memory from her time at BCHS, Carli stated that she loved getting to know people at FCCLA Nationals in 2023. Carli also loved going to state dance, adding that it was a really fun time with her squad. Outside of school, Carli works at Community Pride Care Center in Battle Creek, a job she has held over the past four months. During the summer, Carli also works as a lifeguard at Aquaventure, a job which she has held for three summers. In her free time, Carli enjoys crocheting and hanging out with friends. After high school, Carli plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha to major in nursing.
