Starting tomorrow morning (April 3rd), our South side of the elementary building will essentially be off limits from the start of the fenced in playground all the way to highway 121 due to construction starting. This means we will open the East doors each morning to let students in for breakfast until further notice. 2nd and 3rd grade students will also be on the East side for their morning arrival place. Please help spread the word! If you have questions, please call the school at (402) 675-8085 or email Mr. Childers at cchilders@bcpsne.info.

Brianna Jealynn Herrick, daughter of Brian and Jennifer Herrick, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. Brianna participated in one act play production for four years and was a member of the speech team for three years. As a senior, she received acting awards at both conference and districts. In addition, Brianna also received an award for her ink project in art. When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Brianna listed Mrs. Stephanie Nelson, mentioning, “She allows me to be as creative as I want.” She light-heartedly added that Mrs. Nelson sometimes questions her ideas but eventually lets her do them. Outside of school, Brianna enjoys painting and woodworking. She also likes to bake in her free time. Brianna is currently employed at Herrick Construction as a carpenter’s assistant, a position she has held for three years. After high school, Brianna plans to attend Northeast Community College to earn a degree in building construction. She plans to someday carry on the family tradition and take over her father’s business.

I enjoy her personality and LOVE her original ideas. I will miss her next year.” She also stated that art is her favorite class because “it’s a time where [she] can relax and not stress.” After high school, Ally plans to attend Northeast Community College.
