
Titus Allen Tillman, son of Sarah and Joshua Tillman, attended St. John Lutheran School in Battle Creek before coming to Battle Creek High School at the start of his freshman year. He is a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.
Titus was active in football and track during all four years of high school. In track, he received the Most Improved Male Track Athlete of the Year as a junior. Titus was a district champion in the 4x800 meter relay as well as in the open 800 run. He was a state medalist in the 4x800 meter relay where he and his teammates finished in 8th place at the 2021 Nebraska State Track and Field Championships.
When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Titus listed Mr. Billy O’Brien.Titus listed weights as his favorite class; he mentioned that he enjoys getting out of the regular classroom for a while during the school day.
Outside of school, Titus has worked at Menards for well over a year. In his free time, he enjoys working out, fixing vehicles, and playing video games.
After graduation, Titus plans to serve in the United States Navy. He will leave for basic training following graduation.

Garrett Finke, son of Barbara and Kyle Finke, is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He has attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education.
Garrett participated in golf during all four years of high school, he wrestled and played football for three seasons, and he was a member of the basketball squad as a freshman. Outside of school, Garrett works at Goodies Grille, a job he has held since August of 2020. He also enjoys golfing with his family and friends in his free time.
Garrett stated that his favorite instructors at BCHS are Mr. Ryan Heller and Mr. Taylor Baumert. When asked to name a favorite subject, Garrett mentioned that he enjoys both math and history.
After high school, Garrett plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He plans to study professional golf management.


Joslyn Claire Hrabanek, daughter of Andrew and Barbara Hrabanek, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. She is a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Battle Creek and attends a discipleship group every Wednesday.
Joslyn participated in golf and basketball during all four years of high school. In golf, she earned Mid-State Conference honors, was named the Academic All-State recipient, and earned the Top Golfer Award.
Joslyn was a member of the student council, one act play production, and the quiz bowl team, activities that she participated in during all four years of high school. She served as captain of the quiz bowl squad this past winter and helped her team earn runner-up honors. She participated in speech for three seasons. In addition, she is a member of National Honor Society where she currently serves as the vice president. Joslyn served as class treasurer as a junior and as a senior, and she has been a Trailblazer for the past two years as well. Joslyn was selected as Student of the Month on multiple occasions, was named Art Student of the Month, and has been on the A honor roll throughout high school.
When asked to name a favorite teacher, Joslyn mentioned Mrs. Jenni Frey, stating, “Class is so fun with her, and she made me smile everyday.” She mentioned that her favorite subject in school was anatomy and physiology.
Outside of school, Joslyn enjoys playing the piano and guitar, cooking, reading and doing art projects. Joslyn gives guitar lessons after school and just started her new job at Menards.
After graduation, Joslyn plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She intends to earn her bachelor’s degree, and then she plans to go to medical school to become a pathologist.


Prom 2022

On Wednesday, March 23rd, Mrs. Deb Beckman presented to our 4th Grade students on one of Nebraska's top agricultural products, the soybean. Students in the classroom learned the many different uses for soybeans such as Biodiesel, Soy Milk, and even Crayons, just to name a few. Battle Creek Elementary would like to extend a 'Thank You' to the Nebraska Soybean Board for the presentation.

Battle Creek School District is excited to welcome two new teachers to our elementary team for the 2022-2023 school year!



Baron Scott Buckendahl, son of Preston and Niki Buckendahl, attended St. John Lutheran School through eighth grade. He came to Battle Creek High School as a freshman. Baron is an active member of St. John Lutheran Church in Battle Creek.
While at BCHS, Baron participated in football, basketball, and track during all four years of high school. He served as a team captain for his junior and senior seasons of basketball. As a junior, Baron finished as a sixth place medalist in the 110 meter high hurdles at the Nebraska State Track and Field Championships. He was named to the All District Second Team for his efforts on the gridiron this past fall. Aside from athletics, Baron has served as a Trailblazer for the past two years.
When asked to name his favorite instructor and course at BCHS, Baron listed Mrs. Ryan Heller and his math class. He mentioned that Mr. Heller is “good at keeping class interesting and gives off good vibes.” He added that the two had many good Star Wars talks.
Outside of school, Baron enjoys playing pick up basketball games with friends on the weekends and going golfing in his backyard. In the summer, he is employed at Marx Repair where he is the “pivot master”. He has worked at Marx Repair for the past two summers.
After graduation, Baron plans to attend Wayne State College to pursue a degree in finance. He hopes to become a financial advisor.

Kenneth James Warrick, son of Melodia and George Warrick, Sr., attended Bel Air Elementary School in Norfolk before transferring to Battle Creek High School in junior high.
Kenneth was active in band and track and field during all four years of high school. Kenneth joined the cross country team as a senior, served as a team captain, lettered, and was honored as the Cross Country Teammate of the Year. In band, he qualified for the Class C All State Band. Throughout high school, Kenneth has been on the A Honorable Mention Honor Roll.
When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Kenneth mentioned Mr. Ryan Heller, stating, “He is very chill in the classroom, and he knows when to teach and when to have fun.” When asked to name a favorite subject, Kenneth listed English.
Outside of school, Kenneth loves aviation. He has worked for the Norfolk Airport as a “line guy” for about six months. While attending flight lessons, Kenneth earned his Private Pilot Certificate.
After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Nebraska at Omaha to further his aviation career. He plans to earn a degree in Science in Aviation (professional flight), and he dreams to someday be a corporate pilot.


Dahlas Timothy Zlomke, son of Tim and Julie Zlomke, attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of his education. He is a member of LifePoint Church of Norfolk, Nebraska.
Dahlas participated in wrestling during all four years of high school. He was a three time state qualifier and a two time state placer. His fondest memory from high school was this wrestling season when he placed fifth at the state tournament. He stated that this was his favorite memory because he is very close with his coaches. He added that he was glad to have Coach Wintz in his corner for his last match.
When asked to name a favorite teacher from his time at BCHS, Dahlas mentioned former instructor Mr. Dexter Hanzel because he really helped him understand algebra. Dahlas stated that his favorite subject is science with Mrs. Jodi Borchers because he really likes how she teaches.
Outside of school, Dahlas likes to go fishing and four-wheeling. He also is currently employed at Menards as a shelf stocker.
After high school, Dahlas plans to attend Northeast Community College to study to be a paramedic and EMT.


Kaleb Allen Kummer, son of Brent and Sally Kummer, attended Norfolk Catholic Schools through fourth grade, the Norfolk Public Schools in grades five and six, and then came to Battle Creek in junior high. He is a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Battle Creek.
Kaleb was active in wrestling throughout high school. When asked to name a favorite instructor at BCHS, Kaleb mentioned Mr. Taylor Baumert, stating, “He always wants to have a good conversation and is funny.”
Outside of school, Kaleb enjoys hunting and fishing. He is also a member of the Battle Creek baseball team in the summer months.
After high school, Kaleb plans to attend Northeast Community College where he will study Information Technology.


Alyssa Christine Sullivan, daughter of Scott and Kim Sullivan, attended Norfolk Catholic High School before coming to Battle Creek High School during her sophomore year. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk.
Active in golf, track, speech, and mock trial, Alyssa made the most of her time at Battle Creek. She was also active in FFA, where she qualified for the state competition in the category of Nursery and Landscape.
When asked to list a favorite instructor at BCHS, Alyssa named Mrs. Jodi Borchers. She said, “[Mrs. Borchers] is very kind and understanding. She was always helpful.” When questioned about her favorite subject in school, Alyssa said that she loves learning about our country’s accomplishments in history class. Alyssa’s fondest memories from her time at BCHS will always be as part of the golf team. She mentioned that she enjoyed being able to golf after school and have fun with her teammates.
Outside of school, Alyssa works part time at Love & Threads, where she has been employed for the past three months. She also enjoys golfing in her spare time.
After graduation, Alyssa will attend either Wayne State College or Mount Marty University. She plans to study physical therapy.


Brock Michael West, son of Karie and Nick Langhorst and Shawn and Melissa West, attended Osmond Elementary School before transferring to Norfolk Catholic Schools as a first grader. He came to Battle Creek High School during the middle of his junior year.
Brock was active in football, basketball, and track during all four years of high school. He lettered three times in both football and basketball and twice in track. As a junior, Brock was a state medalist as a member of the 4x800 relay.
When asked to name a favorite staff member at BCHS, Brock listed Mr. Jonah Heng because he “makes class fun.” Brock added that he also enjoys Coach Heng’s style of coaching. He listed Mr. Taylor Baumert’s history class as his favorite period of the day. Brock’s favorite memory from his time at BCHS will always be state track in 2021.
Aside from athletics, Brock has served as a Trailblazer this past year.
Outside of school, Brock enjoys golfing and hanging out with friends. He is employed as a technician at Paul Davis Restoration, a job he has held for three years, and he has also been employed at the Norfolk Country Club for two years.
After graduation, Brock plans to attend Wayne State College or the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. He is unsure of his major, but is thinking about secondary education.

High School Concert


Lindsey Kay Bolling, daughter of Sherrie and Bill Marx and Seth and Michelle Bolling, has attended Battle Creek Public Schools for all thirteen years of her education. Lindsey is an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Norfolk.
While at BCHS, Lindsey participated in volleyball for one season, and she competed in cross country for three years. In addition, she played basketball and ran track for four years. Lindsey served as a team captain this past year in both cross country and basketball, and she has competed at the state meet in both track and cross country.
Outside of athletics, Lindsey has served as a Trailblazer for the past two years, and she is a member of National Honor Society. During her freshman and sophomore years, she participated in one act play production, and as a junior and senior, she has been a member of the yearbook staff. She currently serves as one of the yearbook editors.
For her effort in the classroom, Lindsey has been on the A Honor Roll throughout high school. When asked to name a favorite class in high school, Lindsey stated that she has enjoyed her yearbook class with Mrs. Angela Gray. She added that she has enjoyed the relaxed classroom environment and taking pictures at different extracurricular activities.
After graduation, Lindsey plans to attend Wayne State College to pursue either a degree in business marketing or in health and wellness.
